Quick Nautical Equipment Partners with Mercury Marine to Enhance Boat Maneuverability

Quick Group has announced a partnership between its Quick Nautical Equipment brand and Mercury Marine, which focuses on integrating Quick Nautical Equipment’s bow thrusters with Mercury Marine’s Joystick Piloting system, to enhance boat maneuverability and control.

The partnership was formally revealed at the Miami Boat Show 2025 in Florida, which concluded on 16 February.

Quick Nautical Equipment develops marine products, including anchoring systems, water heaters, bow thrusters, inverters, and battery chargers. The brand’s advancements in these areas include the development of IP68 synchronous motor-powered thrusters with integrated drivers designed for continuous proportional operation.

With this partnership, Quick Nautical Equipment’s thrusters are now officially compatible with Mercury Marine’s Joystick Piloting system. The integration enables improved handling by allowing Mercury’s single-engine and multi-engine joystick systems to control Quick Nautical Equipment’s proportional thrusters. A gateway developed by Quick Nautical Equipment facilitates communication between its Proportional Control Systems (PCS) and Mercury’s protocols.

This system can also be retrofitted onto existing Quick Nautical Equipment installations if a PCS is in place or installed.

Quick Group says this collaboration is expected to enhance precision and responsiveness during low-speed maneuvers, making boats easier to handle.

Quick Group’s Sustainability Initiatives

Earlier this summer, Quick Group launched a raft of sustainability initiatives, including reducing carbon emissions, enhancing supply chain transparency, and increasing investments in renewable energy. The group says it is close to sourcing 100 per cent renewable energy. Other initiatives underway include carbon footprint mapping, ISO certification, implementing vertical production methodologies, and promoting workplace inclusion and equity strategies.

In July 2024, around 1,700 workers were impacted by temporary layoffs at Mercury Marine’s Fond du Lac headquarters, in the US state of Wisconsin, as the company continues to be impacted by declining sales.
