Eidesvik Offshore, Agalas, and Reach Subsea Collaborate on New Construction Support Vessel

Eidesvik Offshore, Agalas, and Reach Subsea have joined forces to develop a state-of-the-art construction support vessel (CSV) tailored for subsea and offshore renewables operations. This new CSV is part of Eidesvik’s strategic expansion plan and is set to enhance the company’s capabilities in serving the oil and gas industry as well as the growing offshore renewables sector.

Key Features of the New CSV

The upcoming CSV will share similar specifications with the vessel currently being constructed by Eidesvik and Agalas at the Sefine Shipyard in Turkey. Scheduled for delivery in spring 2027, this vessel will be equipped to perform inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) work efficiently.

With a five-year time charter agreement with Reach Subsea upon delivery, the CSV will be managed by Eidesvik, ensuring seamless operations and crewing. The vessel’s ownership structure will see two-thirds owned by an entity controlled by Eidesvik and Agalas, while Reach Subsea will own the remaining one-third.

Environmental-Friendly Design

Designed to be one of the most environmentally friendly vessels in its class, the new CSV will feature a battery hybrid system and dual-fuel gensets capable of running on methanol or marine gas oil (MGO). This eco-conscious approach aligns with industry trends towards sustainable operations.

Technical Specifications

The CSV, designed by NSK Ship Design, boasts an overall length of 99.9 meters, a breadth of 21 meters, and accommodation for up to 100 personnel. Equipped with a 150-metric tonne heave-compensated crane and a spacious deck area of approximately 900 square meters, the vessel is primed for IMR and construction tasks.

Additionally, the CSV will feature an innovative remotely operated vehicle (ROV) launch and recovery system (LARS) and will be geared for deep-water seabed survey operations, enhancing its versatility in various maritime activities.

Company Statements

Helga Cotgrove, CEO of Eidesvik Offshore, expressed enthusiasm about the new vessel, stating, “Eidesvik is delivering on our growth strategy, and we are pleased to announce yet another expansion to our fleet. This vessel is designed to meet the demands of both the oil and gas sector and the offshore renewables industry, allowing us to capitalize on market opportunities in both these sectors.”

With a focus on sustainability, efficiency, and operational excellence, the collaboration between Eidesvik Offshore, Agalas, and Reach Subsea signifies a commitment to innovation and growth in the maritime industry.
