Novacavi Supports Successful Deep Mine Shaft Test of Image Soft’s UNWAS

Novacavi recently played a crucial role in the deep mine shaft test of Image Soft’s UNWAS, an underwater surveillance system designed to protect critical infrastructure such as pipelines, subsea cables, ports, and harbors. The special fiber optic cable provided by Novacavi, with its hybrid water-blocked configuration, proved to be a reliable component of this specialized system.

Tuomas Pöyry, Vice President for Image Soft, expressed his appreciation for Novacavi’s durable construction and high-quality cable. He mentioned that the cable enabled their divers to conduct deep testing in a water-filled mine shaft with sharp corners, showcasing its resilience and performance.

Novacavi, a company with over 45 years of experience, specializes in designing and manufacturing special electric cables for various civil and military applications. Their expertise in underwater cables, particularly through their Aquancable® line, has made them a trusted provider in the marine and underwater technology sectors.

Based in Helsinki, Finland, Image Soft Oy focuses on delivering passive underwater surveillance systems to the defense market. Their collaboration with Novacavi highlights the importance of reliable and robust technology in safeguarding critical infrastructure against potential threats.

Overall, the successful test of Image Soft’s UNWAS system in a challenging environment underscores the importance of innovative solutions and strong partnerships in maintaining security and integrity in underwater operations.
