Fincantieri Marinette Marine Appoints Jan Allman as New CEO
Fincantieri Marinette Marine’s Board of Directors approved Jan Allman to assume the duties as FMM’s CEO beginning this week.
Current FMM CEO Mark Vandroff is returning to Fincantieri Marine Group in a new role as the Senior Vice President of Government Relations in Washington D.C.
Allman is no stranger to Fincantieri operations in Northeast Wisconsin. She has previously served as the VP and General Manager of Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding and as the former CEO of Marinette Marine for seven years. Allman’s experience and expertise make her a natural choice for the CEO position at FMM.
On the other hand, Vandroff will be heading back to D.C., where he will be responsible for managing the company’s outreach with senior government leaders, including the Department of Defense and the Navy.
Marco Galbiati, CEO of Fincantieri Marine Group, expressed his appreciation for both leaders. “I want to thank Mark for his exceptional leadership at FMM and look forward to working with him as we navigate our company’s opportunities with government stakeholders in Washington,” said Galbiati. He also welcomed Jan back to Marinette, highlighting her past successes in overseeing the production of Freedom-class LCSs and the start of the Frigate program.
FMM is currently finalizing the detail design of the lead ship of the Constellation-class Frigate program. Construction efforts are set to increase in the coming months, with the lead ship scheduled for delivery in 2029. With contracts for five additional Frigates, construction in Marinette is expected to continue for the next decade and beyond.
