Argeo Becomes First Commercial Customer for Henriksen SOLUS Launch and Recovery System

Argeo has made history by becoming the first commercial customer for the innovative Henriksen SOLUS launch and recovery system designed for unmanned surface vehicles (USVs).

Argeo, a company specializing in advanced offshore survey and inspection services, utilizes a variety of unmanned and autonomous vehicles for its operations. With the introduction of the SOLUS system, Argeo can now safely recover uncrewed USVs even in challenging sea conditions.

The SOLUS system, developed by Henriksen AS in Norway, allows the 9-meter Argeo Argus USV to be seamlessly brought alongside the mothership and reconnected using a telescopic mast. This unique system enables the USV to be retrieved by the mothership’s crew with ease, regardless of sea state.

During launch and remote operations, the USV’s mast remains retracted within its structure. When the mission is complete, the mast is remotely raised to reveal the lifting and painter lines, facilitating a quick and secure connection to the mothership.

Henriksen AS, known for its expertise in marine lifting hooks, developed the SOLUS system as part of its Launch and Recovery division. The company’s impeccable safety record and reputation for quality were instrumental in the creation of this cutting-edge system.

Argeo’s decision to equip the Argeo Argus with the SOLUS system demonstrates a commitment to enhancing its capabilities in utilizing unmanned and autonomous craft on a global scale. This strategic investment will undoubtedly bolster Argeo’s position as a leader in the industry.

The SOLUS system is a testament to Henriksen AS’s dedication to innovation and excellence in marine technology. With a range of advanced products for various applications, including AUV launch and recovery systems and mine sweeping solutions, Henriksen AS continues to set the standard for maritime equipment.
