Norwegian Surveyor Argeo Leading Bid for ROV and AUV Support Vessel Contract in South America

Argeo, a Norwegian surveyor company, has positioned itself as a frontrunner in the tender process for providing ROV and AUV support vessel services in South America. The Oslo-listed company has announced that the contract, which is currently under negotiation, is set to span over a four-year period.

While specific details about the contract remain undisclosed, Argeo boasts a fleet of two vessels, namely the Argeo Searcher and the recently acquired Argeo Venture. The latter, previously known as SW Bell and Polarcus Nadia, was obtained from Shearwater in September 2023 through a combination of cash and shares.

In addition to its vessels, Argeo also possesses one Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) and three Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). The company’s operations span across multiple countries, including Norway, Sweden, Brazil, the US, Singapore, and Scotland.

Furthermore, Argeo solidified its presence in the offshore survey sector last year by securing a global framework agreement with French energy giant TotalEnergies. The agreement, which has a fixed term of five years with the option for two one-year extensions, marks a significant milestone for Argeo’s growth strategy.
