Bardex Corporation and Gabriel Engineering Group Collaborate on Floating Offshore Wind Technologies

Bardex Corporation and Gabriel Engineering Group have recently entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to join forces in developing anchor, mooring, and precision-component technologies for the floating offshore wind industry.

As part of this partnership, the two companies will explore the possibility of establishing a production facility in the United Kingdom dedicated to manufacturing anchor, mooring, and ‘jewellery’ systems, which are essential for ensuring the stability and efficiency of gigawatt-scale floating offshore wind farms.

Headquartered in Goleta, California, Bardex Corporation operates manufacturing facilities in Busan, South Korea. In January 2025, the company expanded its presence in the UK by launching Bardex Energy UK in Newcastle.

By leveraging its new UK office and teaming up with Gabriel Engineering Group, Bardex aims to enhance its manufacturing capabilities for hydraulic chain jacks, mooring connectors, and tensioning solutions. These products will cater to the needs of various industries, including floating offshore wind and oil and gas projects, shipbuilding and repair, as well as decommissioning projects throughout the EMEA region.

On the other hand, Gabriel Engineering Group, through its UK-based subsidiaries ECEX and Cotswold Steel, specializes in providing engineering and fabrication solutions for the offshore wind and ports sectors. This collaboration with Bardex Corporation will further strengthen their position in the market and allow them to offer a broader range of services to their clients.

By combining Bardex Corporation’s expertise in anchor and mooring systems with Gabriel Engineering Group’s engineering and fabrication capabilities, the partnership aims to drive innovation in the floating offshore wind industry and contribute to the growth of renewable energy projects in the UK and beyond.
