Seatrium and BP Sign MOU for Tiber Floating Production Unit Project

Seatrium and BP have recently announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the development of the Tiber Floating Production Unit (FPU) in the U.S. Gulf of America. This marks the beginning of a second collaboration between the two companies following the successful partnership on the Kaskida FPU project.

The Tiber FPU project will see Seatrium providing services for the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of an advanced facility designed to support BP’s deepwater assets in the Gulf of America. The FPU will be equipped with state-of-the-art technologies to ensure operational efficiency and safety, meeting the stringent requirements of deepwater production.

Located approximately 300 miles southwest of New Orleans in the Keathley Canyon area, the Tiber discovery presents a promising opportunity for both Seatrium and BP to further expand their presence in the region.

Key Highlights of the Tiber MOU:

  • Seatrium to provide EPCC services for the Tiber FPU project
  • Advanced technologies to enhance operational efficiency and safety
  • Joint definition of initial works and scope under the MOU
  • Contract award subject to final investment decision by BP

The Tiber project is expected to benefit from the lessons learned and technological advancements achieved during the Kaskida FPU project. Leveraging Seatrium’s topsides single lift integration methodology, the Tiber FPU aims to achieve operational excellence for successful project completion.

With the final investment decision by BP anticipated later in 2025, the Tiber FPU project represents a significant milestone in the ongoing collaboration between Seatrium and BP. The success of the Kaskida project has laid a solid foundation for the Tiber project, setting the stage for future success in deepwater production.

As the partnership between Seatrium and BP continues to strengthen, the Tiber FPU project holds great promise for the future of offshore oil and gas production in the Gulf of America. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development!
