EnerMech Secures Contract Extension for Offshore Operations in Trinidad and Tobago
Aberdeen-headquartered integrated solutions specialist EnerMech has announced a contract extension for its work on platforms offshore Trinidad and Tobago operated by bpTT, the Trinidadian affiliate of BP.
The two-year extension of the contract, originally secured in 2022, will see EnerMech continue to provide crane operations on 12 offshore platforms in which bpTT has a stake offshore Trinidad and Tobago.
BP’s assets in Trinidad and Tobago include three subsea installations and two onshore processing facilities, in addition to the offshore platforms.
Under the extended contract, EnerMech will be responsible for crane operations, preventive and corrective maintenance, minor modifications, and offshore audits. The scope of work also includes onshore technical, HSE, and planning support.
Charles Davison Jr., CEO of EnerMech, highlighted the significance of BP Trinidad and Tobago operations, which contribute approximately 50% of the nation’s natural gas output. He also emphasized the strategic importance of the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, and South America as key growth regions for the company.
Al Murray, Operations & Maintenance Manager, Lifting Solutions at EnerMech, expressed appreciation for the strong working relationship with bp that has enabled the continuation of the contract. He emphasized the importance of the foundations laid over the last three years for the ongoing success of the operations.
One of the offshore developments in Trinidad and Tobago recently achieved a milestone with the connection of a well to the Mento platform, in which bpTT has a stake. This project is a joint venture between bpTT and EOG, with EOG serving as the operator.
