Canadian manufacturer BRP has signed a definitive agreement for the sale of its Manitou assets in Lansing, Michigan. The buyer is the Marcott family, which owns Bentley Pontoons.
The move follows a suite of sell-offs, as BRP follows a broader strategy to exit the marine sector and focus on its Powersports operations.
In April, BRP agreed to sell its Alumacraft brand to Bryton Marine Group, a family-owned company operating in Washington State, US, and British Columbia, Canada. The day prior, BRP also sold its aluminium boat brand Telwater to Yamaha Motor Australia, a subsidiary of Yamaha Motor.
In its financial results for 2025, BRP reported a decline in both revenue and profits, noting that sales have been impacted by volatile conditions and ongoing uncertainty, including global tariff disputes. As a result, the firm decided to defer providing financial guidance for fiscal year 2026.
In June 2025, BRP confirmed it is cutting 61 workers at its global headquarters in Sturtevant, in the US state of Wisconsin.

The Marcott family says it plans to maintain Manitou production at its current facility in Lansing and retain existing employees.
“We are committed to ensuring the continuity of the Manitou brand and we intend to further its reputation for performance, quality and service within the industry, while continuing to support dealers’ needs and success,” says Dennis Marcott, manager and member of the Marcott family. “We will keep building Manitou boats in the existing Lansing facility, and are looking forward to welcoming talented employees as part of the team.”
The transaction is expected to close during BRP’s third quarter of fiscal 2026.
