Crowley Announces Key Leadership Appointments in Advanced Energy and Microgrid Development
Crowley has recently made significant leadership appointments that further solidify its position as a leader in advanced energy transportation and microgrid development sectors across the Americas.
Jackie Gonsalez has been appointed as the vice president of advanced energy within Crowley’s Shipping business unit. In this new role, Gonsalez will spearhead strategic initiatives in liquefied natural gas (LNG) distribution and microgrid development, specifically focusing on Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and other emerging markets. With a strong background in operational excellence and a proven track record, Gonsalez previously held roles as vice president of commercial operations for the Shipping business unit and vice president of business development for the Crowley Logistics business unit.
Furthermore, Tucker Gilliam, the vice president of fleet operations, will now also oversee LNG bunkering and bulk distribution in addition to his current responsibilities. This expanded role includes the management of Crowley’s bunker barge Progress, the largest LNG bunkering barge in North America, as well as the U.S.-flagged LNG carrier American Energy, dedicated to serving Puerto Rico. Gilliam’s extensive maritime expertise positions him well to drive Crowley’s growth in LNG services as the company continues to expand rapidly.
James C. Fowler, senior vice president and general manager of Crowley Shipping, emphasized the strategic importance of these appointments, stating, “Jackie and Tucker’s industry knowledge and growth-oriented mindsets will play a pivotal role in delivering new innovations and value through our advanced energy distribution and microgrid capabilities for our customers and the communities we serve.”
In line with its commitment to advanced energy solutions, Crowley’s LNG-related operations encompass a range of initiatives such as the operation of Progress and American Energy, deployment of LNG-powered containerships, management of LNG truck loading facilities, and the development of LNG-powered microgrids in the Caribbean. These efforts underscore Crowley’s long-term strategy to provide more efficient and reliable energy solutions while solidifying its position as a key player in supporting energy expansion in the U.S., Caribbean, and Central America.
