DEME Group Acquires 50% Stake in Bauer Offshore Technology
DEME Group has acquired a 50% stake in Germany-based Bauer Offshore Technology, a leading provider of drilling services for the construction of offshore wind foundations.
DEME Group’s subsidiary, DEME Offshore Holding, has acquired the stake in the Schobenhausen-based company, Bauer Offshore Technologies. This strategic move will see Bauer Offshore Technologies becoming part of DEME’s offshore energy segment, enhancing the group’s capabilities in the offshore wind sector.
The eight-person team at Bauer Offshore Technologies will continue to provide consulting and engineering services, along with specialized equipment from the Bauer Group, on a project-by-project basis. Operations will be carried out under the Bauer Offshore Technologies brand name in collaboration with the Bauer Group.
Furthermore, the agreement includes an option for DEME to acquire the remaining 50% stake in Bauer Offshore Technology within the next five years, showcasing DEME’s commitment to expanding its presence in the offshore wind industry.
With expertise in various geotechnical conditions, Bauer Offshore Technologies offers safe and efficient drilling solutions for offshore wind projects. The company has contributed to notable projects like the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm in France, demonstrating its capabilities in the sector.
Adding to its recent acquisitions, DEME Group also acquired Havfram, an international offshore wind contractor based in Norway, further solidifying its position in the global offshore energy market.
