Norwegian Offshore Supply Vessel Owner DOF Group Secures $480 Million in Contracts with Petrobras
Norwegian offshore supply vessel owner, DOF Group, has recently secured four long-term charter and service contracts with Petrobras, the Brazilian state-run oil company. These contracts are valued at approximately $480 million and mark a significant milestone for DOF Group in the region.
One of the key vessels involved in these contracts is the Skandi Iguaçu, which is one of the largest Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels ever built in Brazil. With a bollard pull of over 350 metric tons and large winch storage capacity, the Skandi Iguaçu has been contracted for four years with an expected start date in February 2026, following its current contract.
In addition to the Skandi Iguaçu, three other AHTS vessels – Skandi Angra (280 mt BP), Skandi Paraty (288 mt BP), and Skandi Urca (260 mt BP) – have also secured four-year contracts with Petrobras. These contracts are set to begin in January 2026, aligning with the expiration of their current contracts.
As part of these contracts, the scope of work for the three vessels includes the use of work class Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) capable of operating at water depths of up to 3,000 meters. This demonstrates the advanced capabilities of the vessels and their suitability for a wide range of offshore operations.
Commenting on the contract awards, Mons S. Aase, CEO of DOF Group, expressed his satisfaction with the new agreements, stating, “We are happy to announce these contract awards which build backlog into 2030 at solid terms. The contract awards demonstrate our operational pedigree and reinforce our position as a leading player within the high-end AHTS vessel segment in Brazil.”
Overall, these contracts represent a significant achievement for DOF Group and highlight the company’s strong presence in the offshore supply vessel market. With a solid backlog of contracts in place and a focus on delivering high-quality services, DOF Group is well-positioned for continued success in the years to come.
