DOF Group Secures Contracts for Subsea Construction Projects with Skandi Implementer
Norwegian offshore supply vessel operator DOF Group has announced that it has secured contracts for two subsea construction projects that will be carried out using its state-of-the-art vessel, Skandi Implementer. This comes after the vessel recently departed Mexico due to contract termination following a payment default from a client.
Skandi Implementer is specifically designed for subsea construction, inspection, repair, maintenance (IRM) and remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services up to a depth of 3000 meters. The vessel, built in 2008 and featuring a Marin Teknikk 6027 design, is capable of accommodating 129 personnel.
According to DOF, Skandi Implementer will soon undergo the integration of survey services and two of DOF’s ROVs, with the project mobilization set to begin in late February.
CEO of DOF Group, Mons Aase, expressed his satisfaction with securing new contracts for Skandi Implementer, stating, “We are pleased to have quickly secured work for Skandi Implementer following the recent contract termination. These contract awards not only contribute to asset utilization and backlog but also mark the progression of one of our I-class vessels into our subsea project business as part of our strategic plan to enhance our fleet with subsea services.”
The names of the two international oil companies with whom DOF Group has contracted for these projects have not been disclosed.
These new contracts signify a positive step forward for DOF Group and highlight the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in the subsea construction sector. With Skandi Implementer at the helm, DOF Group is well-positioned to deliver high-quality subsea services to its clients.
