SolarDuck Achieves ISO 9001 Certification for Offshore Floating Solar Solutions

Dutch-Norwegian provider of offshore floating solar energy solutions, SolarDuck, has obtained ISO 9001 certification from classification society Bureau Veritas.

As a leader in the offshore floating solar industry, SolarDuck’s latest achievement highlights the company’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement. The certification reaffirms SolarDuck’s dedication to delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving demands of the renewable energy sector.

“This certification is the result of true teamwork,” said Koen Burgers, CEO of SolarDuck. “It demonstrates the deep commitment of our people to building an organization that continually improves, innovates, and delivers solutions of the highest standard to our customers and partners.”

Advancing Offshore Floating Solar Technology

In addition to obtaining the ISO 9001 certification, SolarDuck recently conducted basin tests for its updated floating solar platform design at the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) as part of the DEI+ Merganser project consortium.

The DEI+ Merganser project, a collaborative effort with MARIN, TNO, Deltares, TU Delft, and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, serves as an operational laboratory for SolarDuck to gather relevant data on platform motions, energy output, and marine life interactions.

Future Plans and Innovation

Looking ahead, SolarDuck plans to test 54 interconnected platforms in the basin before summer, further solidifying its position as a pioneer in offshore floating solar technology. The company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability underscores its dedication to shaping the future of renewable energy.

With the successful ISO 9001 certification and ongoing projects like DEI+ Merganser, SolarDuck continues to push the boundaries of offshore floating solar solutions, driving progress in the renewable energy sector and beyond.
