EasyPost has launched Luma, an artificial intelligence (AI) powered automation tool designed to advance the shipping industry.

Luma, claimed to be the “first” multi-carrier shipping AI of its kind, is trained on billions of historical shipments to provide performance insights, predictive simulations for carrier combinations, and automated rate selection for optimal label generation.

The tool is engineered to unlock cost savings while improving delivery accuracy, ensuring “efficiency” and “precision” throughout the shipping process.

The tool includes the Luma Insights feature, which offers parcel visibility from the initial to the final mile, including peer-shipper benchmarking to pinpoint areas for improvement.

Luma Advisor, another feature of the tool, simulates various carrier scenarios based on specific business rules and preferences, guiding businesses towards the most suitable options for each shipment.

This advanced functionality has the potential to save companies over $1m monthly.

Meanwhile, Luma Select automates shipping strategies with its AI-powered rate selection, allowing businesses to purchase custom-fit labels based on speed, cost, or performance, all without the need for developer intervention.

The AI-driven features of Luma provide companies with the tools to enhance operational efficiency.

EasyPost product vice president Ching Pei said: “Luma revolutionises the shipping process by providing companies with up to 97% on-time delivery estimates and increasing delivery accuracy by 39%.

“With AI-driven insights, businesses can optimize shipping strategies and save millions every month.”

Established in 2012, EasyPost specializes in shipping technology, providing businesses with automation and optimization tools for their shipping operations.

The company serves more than 12,000 businesses worldwide, supports integration with more than 100 carriers, and has handled billions of shipments globally.
