Eco Wave Power Completes Installation of Floaters for U.S. Wave Energy Project
Onshore wave energy technology firm Eco Wave Power has reached a significant milestone by completing the installation of floaters for its first U.S. wave energy project at the Port of Los Angeles. This achievement marks a crucial step forward as the company prepares for the official unveiling on September 9, 2025.
The Los Angeles project serves as a demonstration pilot, aiming to validate Eco Wave Power’s patented wave energy technology in real-world marine conditions. The pilot project plays a vital role in advancing the company’s entry into the U.S. market, with objectives such as environmental impact studies in collaboration with stakeholders and durability testing of materials and floaters to optimize long-term performance.
“This pilot project is not only a showcase of our technology but also a stepping stone towards full-scale commercialization in the United States. With all floaters now installed and the energy conversion system installation in progress, we are excited to showcase how coastal infrastructure can be utilized for sustainable and reliable power generation from ocean waves,” stated Inna Braverman, Founder and CEO of Eco Wave Power.
The floaters were manufactured by All-Ways Metal, a California-based company, and installed by C&S Welding, a Wilmington-based marine and industrial contractor. The project, hosted by AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles and supported by Shell’s Marine Renewable Program, utilizes floaters mounted on existing marine structures to harness wave motion and convert it into clean electricity through a land-based conversion unit.
Eco Wave Power’s technology is modular, low-maintenance, and designed to have minimal environmental impact, making it suitable for scalable deployments along coastlines and in port environments.
As Eco Wave Power continues to make strides in the wave energy sector, the completion of the floaters installation at the Port of Los Angeles sets the stage for further advancements in sustainable energy solutions.
