Singapore’s EPS Achieves 350th LNG Bunkering Operation Milestone
Singapore-based ship management company Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) has reached a significant milestone by successfully completing its 350th ship-to-ship (STS) liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering operation. This achievement took place during a bunkering operation with one of EPS’s newest pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs) named Lake Lugu.
EPS began its LNG bunkering journey four years ago and has since been dedicated to advancing cleaner energy solutions in the maritime industry to work towards a net-zero future. The company remains committed to sustainability and looks forward to achieving more milestones in the years to come.
Earlier in December 2024, EPS celebrated its 300th STS LNG bunkering operation when LNG bunker supplier FueLNG’s bunkering vessel FueLNG Venosa delivered 1,628 cbm of LNG to EPS’s PCTC Lake Shirasagi.
Throughout 2024, EPS also reached milestones with its 150th, 200th, and 250th STS LNG bunkering operations. The 150th bunkering was conducted with the dual-fuel containership CMA CGM Bali and bunker vessel Hai Gang Wei Lai, while the 200th operation involved PCTC CMA CGM Daytona. The 250th bunkering was completed with the dual-fuel containership CMA CGM Hope.
In other news, EPS recently took delivery of Lake Travis, a vessel part of a 4+2 shipbuilding order placed in 2022 at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Weihai). Lake Travis, similar to its sister vessels, features advanced technology such as a high-pressure dual-fuel engine, two sets of 2,000 cbm LNG storage tanks, and a hybrid propulsion system provided by Finnish technology group Wärtsilä.
