Exail Launches Octans 9 AHRS for Enhanced Navigation Solutions

Exail has recently introduced its latest innovation in navigation technology with the launch of the Octans 9 Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS). This new model builds upon the success of its predecessors, offering a range of upgrades to improve operational performance in various applications such as dynamic positioning, vessel navigation, and offshore platform stabilization.

One of the key features of the Octans 9 is its utilization of Exail’s advanced Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) technology, which enables precise measurements with a heading accuracy of 0.1° secant latitude and heave measurement accuracy of 5%. This technology ensures reliability even in challenging conditions, making the system resilient to GNSS outages for uninterrupted operations.

The Octans 9 comes with several upgrades to enhance its functionality, including:

  • A more robust and compact design, 25% smaller than its predecessor
  • Lower power consumption of only 12W
  • Upgraded user interface for easier integration into existing systems
  • Export-free status for simplified international distribution and export processes
  • Advanced filtering and alignment-in-motion capabilities for precise stabilization in high-speed vessels and dynamic applications

According to Jean-Michel Hubert, Product Manager at Exail, “Octans 9 marks a significant advancement in both reliability and user-friendliness. With improved real-time heave prediction, seamless integration, and an enhanced user interface, this system is designed to meet the evolving needs of the marine industry, providing customers with greater operational efficiency and flexibility.”

Overall, the Octans 9 AHRS from Exail represents a significant step forward in navigation technology, offering enhanced performance and ease of use for marine applications. With its advanced features and compact design, this system is set to redefine navigation solutions in the maritime sector.
