Exail Secures First Sale of Gaps M3 Compact USBL Positioning System

Exail, a leading provider of underwater positioning systems, has recently announced the successful sale of its Gaps M3 compact USBL (Ultra-Short Baseline) positioning system to a major offshore construction group in Asia. This marks a significant milestone for Exail as it expands its presence in the offshore industry.

The Gaps M3 system will be deployed for a subsea cable laying project, where precise underwater positioning is crucial in a dynamic coastal environment. The system was chosen for its ability to deliver accurate subsea tracking while remaining cost-effective, making it a cost-efficient solution for the offshore construction group.

Integrated with a vessel’s existing attitude and heading reference system, the Gaps M3 offers the same level of accuracy as Exail’s high-end USBL models. This integration ensures seamless operation and reliable performance, meeting the demands of complex subsea projects.

Designed for both permanent and opportunistic installations, the Gaps M3 is well-suited for coastal and nearshore projects where space, budget, and operational flexibility are key considerations. Its ability to track targets at high elevations makes it ideal for dynamic offshore environments, including subsea cable laying, pipeline installation, and marine construction activities.

Overall, the sale of the Gaps M3 compact USBL positioning system represents a significant advancement for Exail in the offshore construction market. With its innovative technology and cost-effective solutions, Exail continues to provide reliable positioning systems for a wide range of underwater applications.
