Fincantieri Commences Construction of Oceania Sonata: A New Era in Luxury Cruising

Exciting news in the world of luxury cruising as Fincantieri has officially kicked off the construction of the Oceania Sonata, a cutting-edge cruise ship for Oceania Cruises, a subsidiary of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.

The Oceania Sonata represents the debut vessel of the Sonata class, a next-generation series that builds upon the highly successful Allura class. Following the footsteps of Oceania Vista, which is set to be delivered by Fincantieri in 2023, the Oceania Sonata is slated for delivery in 2027. Its sister ship, the Oceania Allura, is scheduled to join the fleet in July 2025, with another sister ship to follow in 2029.

Designed to redefine luxury cruising, the Oceania Sonata and its sibling, the Oceania Arietta, promise to be the most spacious and amenity-rich ships in the Oceania Cruises fleet. These vessels will continue Oceania Cruises’ tradition of offering exceptional culinary experiences, immersive destination visits, and unparalleled luxury at sea.

With construction now underway, travelers can look forward to a new era of cruising excellence with the Oceania Sonata and its upcoming sister ships. Stay tuned as Fincantieri continues to set new benchmarks in the world of luxury cruise ship construction.
