Fincantieri, Edge ink deal to Develop Underwater Solutions

Fincantieri and Edge Collaborate to Develop Underwater Solutions

Fincantieri and Edge have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the MAESTRAL joint venture, focusing on the design, development, and construction of underwater systems. The official signing ceremony took place in Rome during the state visit of the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

As two leading groups in shipbuilding and advanced technology respectively, Fincantieri and Edge aim to strengthen their partnership in the underwater sector. The collaboration between the companies is aimed at supporting the UAE in becoming a hub for innovation in underwater technologies.

Key Areas of Collaboration

  • The cooperation between Fincantieri and Edge will focus on the development of unmanned systems for protecting critical underwater infrastructures, mapping the seabed, new generation submarines, drone carriers, and light torpedoes.

This partnership signifies a significant step towards enhancing underwater capabilities and security in the region. By combining their expertise and resources, Fincantieri and Edge are poised to drive innovation and technological advancements in the underwater domain.
