Fugro Secures Major Contract for Deepwater Gas Field Development in Southeast Asia

Fugro, a leading provider of geotechnical and geophysical survey services, has recently signed a letter of award to conduct a site characterization program for a deepwater gas field development in Southeast Asia.

This contract award marks a significant milestone for Fugro, as it represents the largest geotechnical and geophysical survey project that the company has undertaken in the Asia Pacific region to date. The project is a testament to the growing momentum of deepwater developments in the region.

The scope of the project is extensive and will involve a combination of Fugro’s onshore, nearshore, and offshore geophysical and geotechnical survey services. Geo-data acquisition is set to commence in the third quarter of 2025, with fieldwork expected to span approximately one year. The project will continue with detailed testing and consulting deliverables through 2027.

One of the key benefits of this site characterization program is the real-time availability of the ground model to project owners. This will enable faster decision-making by project engineers and enhance collaboration with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, during the site planning and engineering design phases.

While the name of the client and the contract value have not been disclosed by Fugro, the significance of this project underscores the company’s expertise and reputation in the industry.
