Dutch Firm Fugro Secures Major Energy Field Development Contracts in the Middle East

The Netherlands-based geological data specialist, Fugro, has recently been chosen to conduct extensive offshore and onshore surveys for several significant energy field developments in the Middle East. This selection marks a significant milestone in Fugro’s commitment to supporting sustainable growth in the region’s energy sector.

Scope of Work

Under the newly awarded contracts, Fugro will be responsible for carrying out comprehensive offshore and onshore surveys in the United Arab Emirates in support of two of the region’s largest long-term field development programs. The company will leverage its advanced geophysical, geotechnical, uncrewed surface vessel (USV), and environmental expertise, along with innovative GroundIQ technology, to provide critical data for the projects.

Starting in August 2025, Fugro will deploy a range of cutting-edge technologies and services to assist the client in the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) process. This includes surveys for pipelines, cables, artificial islands, and offshore structures, with a focus on delivering near real-time insights into ground conditions through remote data management solutions.

Client Benefits

By utilizing Fugro’s integrated approach, the client will be able to make informed design decisions and achieve significant cost savings throughout the development program. The company’s local expertise combined with global technology leadership will ensure the safe, efficient, and sustainable advancement of the energy projects.
