Gazelle Wind Power Secures $2.26 Million Investment for Floating Wind Technology
Gazelle Wind Power, a Dublin-based floating wind developer, has successfully closed a $2.26 million (€2 million) investment with Banco Português de Fomento (BPF) to further advance its innovative floating wind technology and projects.
The investment with BPF was made possible through the Deal-by-Deal Co-Investment Programme, in collaboration with Indico Capital Partners.
This significant funding will empower Gazelle to solidify its position as a key player in the global renewable energy sector. It will also facilitate the expansion of its technical team and enhance its operational capabilities.
Additionally, the investment will support the ongoing development of Gazelle’s 2MW Nau Azul demonstrator project in Viana do Castelo, which aims to validate the technology and showcase the cost-effectiveness and scalability of its solution.
Notably, Gazelle received a 10-year TUPEM (Titulo de Utilizacao Privativa do Espaco Marítimo) authorization from the Portuguese government in April 2025, paving the way for the deployment of the demonstrator off the coast of Aguçadoura.
“Securing the support of a reputable institutional investor like BPF is a significant vote of confidence in our floating wind platform and its potential to revolutionize offshore wind on a global scale. We are deeply appreciative of their trust in our team and their shared vision to drive the future of floating wind energy,” Gazelle stated in a press release.
