Geoquip Marine Extends Charter Agreement for Geotechnical Survey Vessel

Swiss-based offshore geotechnical data acquisition specialist Geoquip Marine has announced the extension of the charter agreement for the state-of-the-art geotechnical survey vessel, Dina Polaris, originally built in 2017 by Myklebusthaug.

The agreement secures the vessel’s presence in Geoquip’s operational fleet until 2030, marking a long-term commitment to utilizing its capabilities. Since its delivery, Dina Polaris has successfully completed over 30 offshore projects worldwide, solidifying its reputation as a reliable and efficient asset in the industry. Financial terms of the extended charter agreement were not disclosed.

Geoquip Marine describes Dina Polaris as one of the world’s largest and most advanced geotechnical drilling vessels, capable of operating in extreme weather conditions. Equipped with a twin-tower deepwater geotechnical drilling rig, the vessel can perform drilling, coring, sampling, and testing across various soil types at depths reaching 2,500 meters.

Moreover, Dina Polaris features an onboard soil laboratory that enables real-time soil classification and determination of strength parameters, providing essential data for design, analysis, and assessments for clients while at sea.
