The international network of marine industry experts, Global Marine Business Advisors (GMBA), has appointed Richard Haws as the organisation’s new representative in Saudi Arabia.
Haws will draw on more than two decades of experience across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region in this new role and will leverage his extensive background in marina design and operations, project development, and hospitality management to support local and global clients seeking to thrive in Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing marine and tourism sectors.
Haws has led several high-profile projects—ranging from luxury yacht clubs and superyacht marinas to large-scale mixed-use waterfront developments.

“I am thrilled to join GMBA as the Saudi Arabia representative,” says Haws. “Saudi Arabia’s coastline and maritime potential are truly inspiring, and the country’s vision for sustainable, world-class waterfront experiences aligns perfectly with my own passion for innovative, environmentally responsible design. I look forward to connecting with GMBA’s global network and helping our clients discover new opportunities and partnerships in this dynamic region.”
GMBA says its clients can expect strategic guidance that reflects a comprehensive understanding of marina operations, feasibility assessments, technical consulting, and ESG-driven initiatives. Haws’s focus on innovation and sustainability will further strengthen GMBA’s global reputation as the go-to advisor for marine business solutions.
Kai Malmivaara, GMBA’s Middle East representative, says: “It’s fantastic to welcome someone of Richard’s calibre and expertise to the GMBA team,” says Kai. “He brings an incredible track record in marina management, development strategy, and project leadership—all backed by a deep network of regional and international contacts. His knowledge of the Saudi market will be invaluable to our clients looking to expand or enhance their presence in the Middle East.”
