French LNG Specialist GTT Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with COSCO Shipping

French LNG containment specialist GTT has recently entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with China’s COSCO Shipping LNG Investment and COSCO Shipping Heavy Industries. The goal of this partnership is to explore joint development opportunities in various sectors including LNG carriers, ethane carriers, FLNG units, and crude carriers.

This marks GTT’s first agreement with COSCO Shipping LNG, a company that specializes in LNG transportation project investment, shipbuilding, and management. GTT has previously collaborated with COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry on projects related to LNG carriers and LNG-fueled ships.

Under the new agreement, the three companies will focus on developing LNG carriers, ultra large ethane carriers (ULECs), very large ethane carriers (VLECs), FLNG units, and exploring the use of LNG and ammonia as fuel solutions for very large crude carriers (VLCCs).

Furthermore, the agreement aims to enhance collaboration between their technical divisions to promote the application of GTT’s membrane technology in the specified fields.

Adnan Ezzarhouni, General Manager of GTT China, expressed his pride in the partnership, stating, “This partnership not only reinforces the trust between ship-owners, shipyards, and GTT but also paves the way for delivering innovative and efficient solutions to meet the evolving requirements of the energy industry.”

Qin Jiong, Vice General Manager of COSCO SHIPPING Energy Transportation and Chairman of COSCO Shipping LNG Investment, added, “By leveraging the respective strengths of CSLNG, CHI, and GTT, we aim to create cutting-edge products and services that deliver maximum value to all our stakeholders.”
