Norwegian Offshore Wind Contractor Havfram Secures New Construction Project
Norwegian offshore wind contractor Havfram has recently announced that they have secured another construction project in Europe. The project is expected to last approximately one year and will be carried out in 2029. Havfram plans to utilize one of their newbuild installation vessels, which is set for delivery in the second half of 2025.
This latest project marks the eighth contract for transport and installation support of turbines for large-scale offshore wind projects in Europe between 2026 and 2030. Havfram is currently in the process of building a fleet of advanced offshore wind turbine installation vessels (WTIVs) at CIMC Raffles in China. The first WTIV is scheduled for delivery in August 2025, followed by the second newbuild in late Q4 2025.
In October of last year, Havfram signed a reservation agreement with an undisclosed client for one of their newbuilds, with operations expected to commence in the first quarter of 2029. This comes after securing two offshore wind contracts in Germany from Luxcara and a partnership between Vattenfall and BASF, with utilization secured for the newbuilds in 2027 and 2028.
