HelioRec Completes O&M Activities on 250 kW Floating Solar Installation in France

French floating solar company HelioRec recently announced the successful completion of operations and maintenance (O&M) activities on its 250 kW floating solar installation at Domaine de Cicé-Blossac in France.

The system, which was commissioned on 29 October 2024, has already made a significant impact by helping avoid 70 tonnes of CO₂ emissions – equivalent to planting 96 trees.

Despite facing a severe flood earlier this year, HelioRec emphasized that the installation’s durability and design have proven to be resilient in challenging conditions.

“This O&M milestone reinforces the reliability of floating solar solutions, even in dynamic inland water environments,” stated the company.

In addition to its success in France, HelioRec has been expanding its reach internationally. In April, the company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Shoreham Port in the UK to develop a floating solar power project. This collaboration aligns with HelioRec’s mission of repurposing unused water space for clean energy generation, supporting decarbonization efforts.

Furthermore, HelioRec launched the STEWART project in February, which aims to advance environmentally friendly floating solar solutions. This initiative is backed by the European Union (EU) and Région Pays de la Loire through the Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETPartnership).
