InterManager Elects Sebastian von Hardenberg as President

InterManager, the international association for the ship management sector, has elected Sebastian von Hardenberg as President. Sebastian, who is the CEO of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM), was chosen by members of InterManager’s Executive Committee during the association’s Annual General Meeting in London this week.

With a background in law, Sebastian von Hardenberg joined the Schulte Group in 2005 and has held various positions within the organization. He served as the CFO of BSM from 2015 before being appointed as CEO earlier this year.

An experienced negotiator, Sebastian has been actively involved in lobbying efforts on behalf of InterManager members and the ship management sector. During his term as Vice President, he played a key role in discussions with the European Union on issues such as EU-ETS and FuelEU, highlighting the potential impact on ship managers.

Expressing his gratitude for being elected as President, Sebastian von Hardenberg stated, “I am honored to have been elected as President of InterManager and pledge to work proactively with our members and industry stakeholders to strengthen global partnerships and foster forward-thinking solutions to the challenges we face. InterManager is shaping the future of the ship management sector, and we firmly believe that we are stronger and better together.”

Sebastian succeeds Mark O’Neil, the CEO of Columbia Group, who served as President for the past four years. Mark O’Neil was instrumental in pioneering InterManager’s General Principles of Conduct and Action. Sebastian expressed his gratitude to Mark for his service and vowed to continue InterManager’s mission of raising standards across the ship management sector.

During the same meeting, Raal Harris, Chief Creative Officer of Ocean Technologies Group and One Ocean, was elected as Vice President. Raal, a long-standing member of InterManager, has been an active member of the Executive Committee for the past 10 years.

The Executive Committee also extended their thanks to Ajay Tripathi of MMS Singapore, who has stepped down from the role of Treasurer after serving in the position for 17 years.

InterManager continues to play a vital role in shaping the future of the ship management sector under the leadership of Sebastian von Hardenberg and the newly elected Executive Committee members.
