Island Frontier Completes Successful Campaign in West Africa for Oceaneering
The Island Frontier multi-service vessel (MSV), owned by Island Offshore, has recently finished another successful campaign in West Africa for Oceaneering. The vessel delivered spool-piece installation and light construction work as part of the project.
Constructed in 2003, the 106-meter long Island Frontier is equipped for various operations including subsea construction, equipment installation, inspection, maintenance and repair, diving support, and plug and abandonment work.
Following the completion of the West Africa campaign, the MSV is gearing up for its next project in the region before heading back to the North Sea in August. Oceaneering, the U.S.-based subsea services and technology firm, has extended its charter for the Island Frontier until December 2025.
In August 2024, Oceaneering secured multiple contracts for decommissioning, inspection, subsea preparation, and installation support services in the U.K. sector of the North Sea. These contracts were awarded by various operators in the region and are estimated to total 65 days with options for contract extensions.
