Klein Marine Systems Selects Exail Octans Nano OEM AHRS for Enhanced Navigation Precision

Klein Marine Systems, a renowned leader in sonar technology, has recently announced their partnership with Exail to incorporate the Octans Nano OEM Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) as the standard navigation solution for their 5900 Side Scan Sonar (SSS). This collaboration aims to elevate the precision and reliability of the sonar system for high-resolution seabed mapping applications across defense, security, and commercial sectors.

The Exail Octans Nano OEM AHRS boasts an impressive heading accuracy of 0.5° secant latitude, along with pitch and roll accuracy of 0.1°. These advanced capabilities ensure a stable and precise stream of attitude and heading data, ultimately enhancing sonar image quality, refining positioning accuracy, and minimizing the need for extensive post-processing. Additionally, its compact design and low power consumption make it seamlessly integratable into subsea platforms, making it an ideal choice for extended underwater missions where precise attitude data is paramount.

The Klein 5900 SSS is widely recognized for its exceptional high-resolution seabed mapping capabilities, supporting critical tasks such as geophysical surveys, wreck detection, and UXO identification. By integrating Exail’s AHRS technology, the sonar’s ability to maintain stability and reduce drift in challenging underwater conditions is significantly bolstered, ensuring consistent and precise data collection even in the most complex environments.
