Marcura Acquires HubSE to Enhance Claims Management Solutions

Maritime technology firm Marcura has recently announced its acquisition of UK-based tanker demurrage claims automation provider, HubSE. This strategic move is aimed at integrating HubSE’s specialized oil and chemical tanker expertise into Marcura Claims, previously known as ClaimsHub.

The merger of these two entities will result in a comprehensive claims management experience, offering a range of fully managed and self-service solutions to their clients. This acquisition aligns with Marcura’s vision of creating a more connected maritime industry that fosters smooth, sustainable, and profitable global trade.

According to a joint statement released by Marcura and HubSE, the latter’s technology is widely regarded as the industry standard for efficient cost recovery in the specialized sector of oil and chemical tanker demurrage claims.

Central to Marcura’s vision is the seamless integration of data, automation, and AI-driven insights across its solutions. This approach aims to empower customers to work more intelligently, efficiently, and stay ahead in a constantly evolving regulatory environment.

Henrik Hyldahn, CEO of Marcura Group, highlighted the significance of this acquisition, stating, “Managing demurrage claims has often been a fragmented process involving multiple tools and providers. By incorporating HubSE into our ecosystem, we are streamlining this process. Shipowners and charterers now have access to a unified solution that caters to all major commodity types.”

In recent years, Marcura has actively expanded its portfolio through strategic acquisitions. In addition to acquiring HubSE, the company recently purchased maritime software provider VesselMan from Skagerak Capital and online procurement platform ShipServ.
