Marlink has established a new entity, Marlink Cyber, to enhance its offerings in cyber security and compliance in response to the rising threat of cyber attacks.

This initiative aims to meet the growing demand for security solutions among its clients.

Marlink Cyber integrates the existing expertise of Marlink with the capabilities acquired through the purchase of Diverto and Port-IT, bringing together a team of approximately 150 specialists dedicated to addressing the evolving landscape of cyber threats.

The company will focus on three main operational areas, including Cyber Security Professional Services, Infrastructure and Endpoint Security, and the Cyber Security Defence Centre.

This comprehensive portfolio will encompass managed cybersecurity solutions, detection and response services, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, phishing awareness programmes, compliance evaluations, and risk management services.

The newly formed company will operate multiple Security Operations Centres (SOCs) located in key global regions, including the original maritime SOC.

These centres are designed to provide proactive services that assist clients in assessing and improving their security measures.

Additionally, Marlink Cyber will offer solutions and professional services that aid clients in adhering to increasingly stringent regulatory requirements worldwide.

The company’s cross-functional resources will facilitate a coordinated approach to cyber security, enabling the sharing of intelligence for comprehensive protection across various business sectors.

Organisations in the energy, maritime, and humanitarian sectors often encounter challenges in identifying security vulnerabilities and understanding their safety levels and potential threats.

Marlink Cyber will utilise the established NIST framework, which includes the stages of identify, protect, detect, respond, recover, and govern, to support these organisations in enhancing their operational resilience, ensuring regulatory compliance, and making impactful investments in security.

In February this year, Marlink announced that it supported Knutsen Group’s digital transformation by deploying the Sealink NextGen solution across its fleet, providing high-bandwidth, low-latency LEO connectivity within a secure hybrid network.
