Expanding Horizons: MED MARINE Secures Five New Tugboat Contracts Across Europe
By: MED MARINE
Setting the pace for the new year, MED MARINE has inked five new tugboat contracts with operators in Italy, Greece, and Spain. These agreements not only bolster the company’s presence in Europe but also underline its dedication to providing high-performance solutions tailored to the specific needs of each region.
January saw the signing of a contract for a 24-meter DRAfter 2400 series tugboat destined for Greece. With a minimum bollard pull of 40 tons and equipped with a twin-screw conventional propulsion system, this vessel is designed to excel in various harbor tasks such as towing, pushing, and mooring.
Turning to Spain, a RAmparts 2300-W tug has been commissioned to handle versatile harbor operations. Despite its compact size of 23 meters, this tug boasts a 50-ton bollard pull, dual winches, an azimuth stern drive propulsion system, and a layout optimized for efficient multi-purpose operations. These new contracts exemplify MED MARINE’s unwavering commitment to quality, trust, and enduring partnerships, setting a dynamic tone for 2025. Each new vessel underscores the company’s mission to deliver cutting-edge solutions to ports worldwide.
February brought about further success for MED MARINE with the acquisition of two RAmparts 2500-W and one RAstar 3200-W series tugboats bound for Italy. The 25-meter RAmparts 2500-W tugs, designed for versatility in harbor operations, offer a hefty 65 tons of bollard pull and feature an advanced azimuth stern drive propulsion system. On the other hand, the 32-meter RAstar 3200-W tug is tailored for LNG terminal and escort duties, boasting an impressive 80-ton bollard pull, dual winch capability, and LNG compatibility to enhance safety and operational efficiency in challenging terminal environments.
These latest agreements not only underscore MED MARINE’s dedication to excellence, integrity, and enduring partnerships but also signal a dynamic start to 2025. With each new vessel commissioned, the company reinforces its commitment to revolutionizing port operations around the globe.
