Nauticus Robotics and Open Ocean Robotics Join Forces to Transform Subsea Asset Monitoring
U.S.-based Nauticus Robotics, a developer of subsea autonomous robotic systems, has announced a groundbreaking collaboration with Canada-based Open Ocean Robotics. The partnership aims to revolutionize the monitoring and maintenance of subsea assets within the offshore energy sector.
The collaboration brings together Nauticus’s expertise in subsea systems, including its advanced autonomous vehicle Aquanaut, with Open Ocean Robotics’ innovative solar-powered uncrewed surface vehicle (USV), the DataXplorer.
By integrating Nauticus’s autonomous subsea vehicles with Open Ocean Robotics’ USVs, the companies seek to enable persistent, real-time monitoring and data collection. This integrated solution is designed to reduce the need for crewed vessels and lower operational costs associated with subsea inspections, maintenance, and monitoring.

Open Ocean Robotics’ USVs are designed to operate autonomously for extended periods using solar energy, further enhancing the sustainability of the monitoring process.

Acquisition of SeaTrepid International
In a strategic move, Nauticus Robotics recently completed the acquisition of subsea robotic services provider SeaTrepid International ahead of schedule. The acquisition further strengthens Nauticus Robotics’ position in the subsea industry.
Earlier this year, Nauticus Robotics finalized the definitive agreement to acquire all assets and business of SeaTrepid, marking a significant milestone in its strategic growth.
