Accelerating Offshore Operations with Autonomous Subsea Robotics

Autonomous subsea robotics and software solutions specialist Nauticus Robotics has recently entered into a master services agreement (MSA) with Advanced Ocean Systems (AOS), marking the beginning of a strategic alliance aimed at revolutionizing the integration of autonomy within the offshore sector.

Collaborative Innovation for Efficiency

This MSA signifies a long-term commitment between Nauticus Robotics and AOS to collaborate on various projects that will drive the incorporation of subsea robotics and autonomous systems, ultimately enhancing operational efficiencies within the offshore industry.

The partnership will leverage the engineering expertise and technical capabilities of both organizations to capitalize on maritime autonomy opportunities. One of the immediate plans is to utilize AOS’s test lake facility in Florida for conducting trials with Nauticus’ flagship autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), Aquanaut.

Advancing Autonomous Capabilities

Through joint efforts, Nauticus and AOS aim to enhance Aquanaut’s operating parameters and explore the seamless integration of the AUV within a collaborative ecosystem of unmanned assets, including uncrewed surface vessels (USVs). This integration is envisioned to optimize the execution of subsea tasks, ensuring greater efficiency and effectiveness.

John Gibson, President and CEO of Nauticus Robotics, expressed enthusiasm about the alliance, stating, “We are excited to announce this new alliance and look forward to working with AOS to advance the integration of scalable autonomous solutions into offshore operations. Our missions align perfectly to challenge industry norms and drive significant changes in subsea asset management practices.”

Fostering Innovation and Market Opportunities

John Jacobson, CEO of Advanced Ocean Systems, echoed Gibson’s sentiments, emphasizing the potential for the collaboration to bring fresh ideas and opportunities to the market. He highlighted the combined industry experience of Nauticus and AOS as a catalyst for driving practical autonomy into everyday offshore operations.
