Nauticus Robotics Reports Strong Momentum in Q1 2025

Nauticus Robotics, a leader in subsea robotic services, recently announced its financial and operational results for the quarter ended March 31, 2025, showcasing solid momentum in its offshore season.

President and CEO John Gibson expressed optimism about the company’s performance, stating, “Our offshore season kicked off in Q1 with strong momentum and is continuing to gain traction as we move into the second quarter. With the successful integration of SeaTrepid, we are on track to surpass Nauticus’s full-year 2024 revenue in the first half of 2025.”

The highlight of the quarter was Nauticus’s strategic acquisition of SeaTrepid International on March 20, 2025. This acquisition, valued at $14.4 million, bolstered the company’s operational capabilities and expedited the deployment of Nauticus’s autonomy software, ToolKITT, across SeaTrepid’s active ROV fleet.

The integration of SeaTrepid and Nauticus has paved the way for enhanced collaboration between ROVs and Aquanaut vehicles, leveraging robotics and intelligent automation for seamless underwater operations. This strategic move positions Nauticus to capitalize on new commercial opportunities in the offshore services market.

During the first quarter, Nauticus’s Gulf Coast offshore season saw significant activity:

  • One ROV commenced a contract with a drill ship, slated to continue throughout the summer.
  • A second ROV successfully completed a project in the Northeast and is now conducting detailed subsea inspections off the Gulf Coast.
  • Two Aquanaut vehicles underwent rigorous readiness testing, with one ready for deployment and the other in its final validation phase.

Additionally, Nauticus’s Software team made substantial progress in enhancing the capabilities of Aquanaut and preparing a commercial-ready software release for work-class ROVs. Simultaneously, the Electric Manipulator team advanced purpose-built electric manipulators for seamless integration with Aquanaut vehicles and ROVs.

With a robust demand for its innovative products and a growing platform, Nauticus is poised for a successful 2025. Gibson affirmed the company’s commitment to value enhancement, stating, “The groundwork we have laid is solid, and the opportunities that lie ahead are truly promising.”

In terms of financial performance, Nauticus reported first-quarter revenue of $0.2 million, compared to $0.5 million in the same period last year and $0.5 million in the previous quarter. Total expenses for the quarter were $6.0 million, a slight increase from the prior year but a decrease from Q4 2024. The adjusted net loss for the quarter stood at $6.6 million, slightly higher than the same period in 2024 but lower than the prior quarter.

Overall, Nauticus Robotics’s strong operational performance, strategic acquisitions, and technological advancements position the company for continued growth and success in the dynamic offshore services market.
