A New Partnership in Autonomous Subsea Asset Inspection
A new collaboration between EIVA and Tuco Marine is set to revolutionize the way subsea assets are inspected, particularly in the realm of renewable energy infrastructure. EIVA, known for its cutting-edge software and equipment for underwater surveying, has joined forces with Tuco Marine, a leading producer of unmanned surface vessels (USVs), to provide an integrated system solution.
The partnership will see the deployment of the ProZero 8m Naval Intelligence USV by Tuco Marine, which will be equipped to launch EIVA’s remotely operated towed vehicle (ROTV) ViperFish. The ViperFish serves as a sensor platform for high-resolution seabed imaging, depth mapping, and monitoring of subsea assets, making it an invaluable tool for autonomous surveys.
“By combining our respective technologies, EIVA and Tuco Marine are poised to offer the market a comprehensive solution for autonomously surveying subsea assets,” stated Christian Thomsen, CEO of EIVA. “This partnership addresses a growing demand for efficient and effective inspection methods in the renewable energy sector.”
Jonas Pedersen, Managing Director of Tuco Marine, added, “The integration of a USV like our ProZero with EIVA’s ROTV sensor platform and survey software enables us to conduct thorough and frequent monitoring of critical subsea infrastructure, surpassing traditional survey methods.”
EIVA’s ScanFish sensor platform is widely recognized for its effectiveness in UXO surveys, while the ViperFish, introduced in 2023, is tailored for autonomous USV systems based on customer feedback. Tuco Marine’s ProZero vessels have a proven track record in offshore wind farms, environmental surveys, defense applications, and aquaculture.
The system’s data quality is further enhanced by advanced positioning and imaging sensor technologies, made possible through strategic partnerships within the Covelya Group, which includes industry leaders like Sonardyne, Wavefront Systems, and Forcys.
Overall, the EIVA and Tuco Marine partnership represents a significant step forward in the realm of autonomous subsea asset inspection, offering a comprehensive solution that combines cutting-edge technology with industry expertise.
