New Fortress Energy Signs Charter Agreement for FSRU Energos Freeze

US-based LNG player New Fortress Energy has recently announced the execution of a three-year charter agreement for the Energos Freeze FSRU with Energía 2000 in the Dominican Republic.

The 125,000 cu m floating storage and regasification unit will be deployed to Energía 2000’s LNG import terminal in Pepillo Salcedo (Manzanillo) port and is scheduled to commence operations in September 2025.

This FSRU will provide LNG regasification services to support power generation and industrial energy demand across the region.

Wes Edens, chairman and CEO of New Fortress Energy, stated, “This charter agreement reflects our continued commitment to expanding energy access in the Caribbean through strategic partnerships and world-class LNG infrastructure.”

With the deployment of the Energos Freeze FSRU, New Fortress Energy aims to contribute to the energy sector in the Dominican Republic and enhance the availability of LNG for various industries in the region.
