The Launch of the Paris Nautic Show by the French Nautical Industries Federation

The French Nautical Industries Federation (FIN) has announced the launch of a new Paris-based boat show at its annual general meeting.

The new Paris Nautic Show will take place from Wednesday 26 November to Sunday 30 November 2025, at the Parc des Expositions du Bourget in north-east Paris. The news comes after the cancellation of the inaugural Nautic-en-Seine boat show, which was originally scheduled for 1 April 2025 on the banks of the River Seine in Paris, due to market conditions. That show was originally conceived as a reinvention of the Nautic Paris boat show that was held indoors, in the Porte de Versailles, but the open-air project struggled to get off the ground and was postponed from October 2024 before its eventual cancellation.

The indoor show is being organised through FIN’s event subsidiary M2O.

In a statement, FIN says: “The FIN has consistently advocated for the importance of a Paris-based boat show. In a complex economic and political environment, the sector continues to require a platform in the Île-de-France region to demonstrate its resilience and innovation.”

The Paris Nautic Show will bring together approximately 350 exhibitors and 300 to 400 boats across two halls covering 40,000 square metres. The event’s duration has been shortened compared with previous Paris-based boat shows, and the timing is designed to coordinate with the international exhibition calendar.

The event’s leadership team includes Jean-Paul Chapeleau as president, Christophe Vieux as managing director, Caroline Popovici as deputy commissioner general and director of operations, and Guillaume Verbrugghe as deputy commissioner general and commercial director. The event’s new branding, including its logo and promotional materials, was unveiled at the general meeting, and commercial activities for the show were officially launched.

“We have always supported the need for a major annual meeting in the Paris region. The Parc des Expositions du Bourget provides an ideal venue — an international, flexible space suited to hosting large-scale industry events. The Paris Nautic Show will be built with and for the sector, enabling it to expand, innovate and increase its visibility,” says Jean-Paul Chapeleau.

M2O, which previously revitalised the International Multihull Show, says it anticipates a record edition for that event — held in the southern seaside resort of La Grande-Motte — in April 2025.

French marine industry figures for 2023–2024

For the first time, the FIN also presented its annual industry figures in March, earlier than in previous years. Following a strong 2022–2023 period, sales of new boats have declined, with a notable downturn in motorboats under 9 metres, which account for nearly half of all units. However, boating remains popular, as reflected in the stable second-hand market over the past 20 years and the increasing number of boating licences issued annually.

The FIN also announced the completion of a new reference framework for the voluntary Pre-Sale Diagnostic (DPV), developed in collaboration with DGAMPA and France Assureurs. The DPV aims to provide clearer information on the condition of second-hand boats not subject to formal inspections during ownership transfers.
