Edda Wind

Sweden-based CTV owner and operator Northern Offshore Services has ventured into the SOV sector with the acquisition of one of Edda Wind’s vessels.

The Norwegian offshore wind support vessel company announced the sale of the 2018-built Mistral Enabler to an undisclosed buyer in a filing to Oslo Bors on Wednesday.

The transaction is set to be finalized in early April 2025. Currently employed under a contract with Danish offshore wind leader Ørsted, the vessel will continue its operations with the new owner.

In a social media post on Thursday, Northern Offshore Services confirmed its purchase of the vessel, marking its entry into a new market segment. The Mistral Enabler will be rebranded as Northern Ocean and utilized for providing safe and efficient access for wind farm personnel and technicians.
