NOVACAVI Chosen to Design and Manufacture Hybrid Buoyant Umbilical for AI-Guided Demolition Robot

NOVACAVI, a specialist in custom underwater and marine cables, has been selected to create a hybrid buoyant umbilical cable that will power an AI-guided demolition robot in the rehabilitation of Dock 7 at the Port of Trieste.

The innovative robot, equipped with arms, will be tasked with removing deteriorated concrete using high-pressure hydro-demolition techniques while ensuring the protection of the underlying steel structure. This precision work requires reliable power supply, control mechanisms, and real-time data transmission—all of which will be facilitated by NOVACAVI’s hybrid buoyant cable.

The cable, encased in a hydrolysis- and UV-resistant matt polyurethane (PUR) sheath, offers a unique combination of lightness, buoyancy, and robust durability. These qualities make it an ideal choice for demanding marine infrastructure projects such as the rehabilitation of Dock 7.

With NOVACAVI’s expertise and cutting-edge technology, the AI-guided demolition robot will be able to efficiently and safely carry out its tasks, contributing to the successful completion of the project at the Port of Trieste.
