Gulf Marine Services Secures New Contract and Extensions in the Middle East

Gulf Marine Services (GMS), a UAE-headquartered provider of self-propelled and self-elevating support vessels for the offshore energy sector, has recently announced new developments in its operations in the Middle East.

According to GMS, the company has secured a new contract with a major regional client for one of its vessels. The contract, which spans an initial term of seven months with possible extensions, highlights GMS’s ability to provide tailored solutions to meet the demands of its clients.

Mansour Al Alami, GMS Executive Chairman, expressed his satisfaction with the new contract, stating, “This award underscores GMS’s ability to source and provide customized solutions to our clients and demonstrates our flexibility in meeting current as well as future demand.”

The scope of work for the vessel under the new contract includes supporting a project in the Middle East and assisting with various offshore operations to deliver specialized solutions for the region.

In addition to the new contract, GMS has also secured three-year contract extensions for two of its vessels with a major national oil company in the Middle East. These extensions, obtained at enhanced rates, have contributed to GMS’s backlog reaching $558 million.

With a continued focus on expanding its presence in the market, GMS previously signed a new contract in Europe and extended two existing contracts in the Middle East in October 2024. These strategic moves have allowed the company to increase its backlog to $505 million, further solidifying its position in the offshore energy sector.
