Norwegian Offshore Shipowner Østensjø Rederi Secures New Contracts Worth NOK 3bn

Norwegian offshore shipowner and operator Østensjø Rederi recently announced multiple new contracts and extensions for its fleet, totaling approximately NOK 3 billion.

The company has extended contracts with DeepOcean for the vessels Edda Freya, Edda Flora, and Edda Fauna through 2026 and 2027, respectively. These extensions mark a direct continuation of their current contracts with DeepOcean since delivery.

In addition to the extensions, Østensjø Rederi secured a six-month extension for the Edda Fides, a flotel built in 2011, currently operating off Angola. The company also signed a firm-month contract for the Edda Fortis, a 2022-built flotel, to work in the Mediterranean Sea for an international client.

Furthermore, the Edda Frende PSV, built in 2009, will commence a one-year firm contract with Shell in the first quarter of 2025, with additional options included. The vessel will be conducting supply duties in the North Sea on the UK continental shelf.
