Kuok Maritime Group’s PaxOcean Orders Offshore Construction Vessels from Salt Ship Design
Kuok Maritime Group’s PaxOcean has recently announced an exciting order for up to four offshore construction vessels (OCVs) from a prominent European shipowner. The Singapore-based shipyard group revealed that the agreement includes two definite newbuilds scheduled for delivery in 2027, with an option for two additional vessels.
The 123-meter-long vessels, designed by Norway’s renowned Salt Ship Design, are set to be versatile enough to operate in both traditional and renewable offshore energy sectors. PaxOcean expressed confidence that these vessels will play a crucial role in the energy transition, particularly within the rapidly growing offshore wind industry.
These state-of-the-art ships will be equipped to handle methanol and feature a full-beam hangar capable of accommodating two work-class ROVs. Additionally, they will be outfitted with a 1000KWh battery energy storage system and will have provisions for future carousel installation and moonpool operations.
