Kuok Maritime Group’s PaxOcean Orders Offshore Construction Vessels from Salt Ship Design

Kuok Maritime Group’s PaxOcean has recently announced an exciting order for up to four offshore construction vessels (OCVs) from a prominent European shipowner. The Singapore-based shipyard group revealed that the agreement includes two definite newbuilds scheduled for delivery in 2027, with an option for two additional vessels.

The 123-meter-long vessels, designed by Norway’s renowned Salt Ship Design, are set to be versatile enough to operate in both traditional and renewable offshore energy sectors. PaxOcean expressed confidence that these vessels will play a crucial role in the energy transition, particularly within the rapidly growing offshore wind industry.

These state-of-the-art ships will be equipped to handle methanol and feature a full-beam hangar capable of accommodating two work-class ROVs. Additionally, they will be outfitted with a 1000KWh battery energy storage system and will have provisions for future carousel installation and moonpool operations.

Supporting Sustainable Operations

PaxOcean emphasized that the new vessels will not only support sustainable operations in the conventional energy sector but also contribute significantly to the renewable energy market. The company believes that these OCVs will be instrumental in meeting the evolving needs of the offshore energy industry while ensuring environmentally friendly practices.

With a focus on innovation and efficiency, PaxOcean is committed to delivering high-quality vessels that align with the industry’s growing demand for eco-friendly solutions. The order for these cutting-edge OCVs underscores the company’s dedication to driving progress in the maritime sector.
