Portuguese Company Mota-Engil Wins Two Major Contracts with Petrobras
Portuguese engineering and construction company Mota-Engil, through its Brazilian subsidiary, has secured two significant contracts with Petrobras, the Brazilian state-owned oil giant.
The first contract, valued at 1.56 billion reais ($274 million) and spanning 60 months, involves the recovery and final removal services of 420 km of flexible lines at the Marlim, Marlim Sul, and Marlim Leste offshore oil fields. The scope of work includes engineering, preparation, recovery, and final removal services, including the offshore collection, dismantling, and disposal of pipelines, hydraulic umbilicals, electrical cables, subsea components, and equipment at water depths ranging from 700 to 2,000 meters.
On the other hand, the second contract, worth approximately 1.61 billion reais ($283 million) and lasting 48 months, entails maintenance, construction, and assembly services on offshore oil platforms. This includes the installation of pipelines, metal structures, boilermaking services, scaffolding assembly, painting, electrical maintenance, instrumentation, and automation.
These two contracts significantly bolster Mota-Engil’s presence in Brazil, adding to its existing backlog of over $1 billion in the country.
