DOF Extends Contract for Skandi Buzios with Petrobras

Norwegian offshore vessel owner DOF has secured an extension for one of its pipelay support vessels (PLSV) from Petrobras.

The extension pertains to the 2016-built vessel, Skandi Buzios, currently nearing the end of its long-term contract with Petrobras.

The vessel commenced operations under an eight-year contract with the Brazilian state-owned giant in April 2017. The latest extension ensures the vessel’s continued service for Petrobras from April 2025 to September 2026. Skandi Buzios is owned by TechDOF, a joint venture between TechnipFMC and DOF Subsea.

Despite facing a significant fire incident in June 2023, the Skandi Buzios underwent repairs and returned to Brazil in early July 2024. Subsequently, it resumed operations on August 1, 2024, demonstrating its resilience and commitment to fulfilling its contractual obligations.

This contract extension underscores the trust and confidence Petrobras has in DOF’s capabilities and the Skandi Buzios’ performance in supporting the offshore operations of the Brazilian energy giant.
