Pole Star Global Acquires Clearwater Dynamics, Leading Innovator in Maritime Risk Intelligence

By: Pole Star Global

Pole Star Global, the renowned leader in maritime intelligence solutions, has made a significant announcement today regarding its acquisition of Clearwater Dynamics. Based in the UK, Clearwater Dynamics is a pioneering company in real-time maritime risk intelligence and the creator of Coral, the foremost platform for managing marine insurance risk.

This strategic move by Pole Star Global reinforces its position as a leader in maritime domain awareness. By combining Clearwater’s expertise in real-time vessel risk monitoring and marine insurance with Pole Star’s proficiency in regulatory compliance, voyage optimization, dark vessel detection, and maritime data analytics, the acquisition marks a pivotal moment in the industry. It also signifies Pole Star’s entry into the marine insurance sector, enabling seamless integration between operational, regulatory, and underwriting intelligence.

Clearwater’s Coral platform provides underwriters and brokers with robust tools for assessing, monitoring, and reporting risk exposure in real time. This capability is crucial in a world where geopolitical tensions and maritime threats are on the rise. These features complement Pole Star’s mission of ensuring secure global trade through transparency and actionable intelligence.

“This acquisition aligns perfectly with our vision,” stated Bob Skea, CEO of Pole Star Global. “Pole Star empowers various stakeholders to navigate the complexities of the modern world safely and compliantly. Clearwater Dynamics brings real-time intelligence to vessel operators and marine underwriters and brokers, creating a seamless ecosystem rich in data that addresses operational, regulatory, and insurance aspects of maritime risk.”

The integration also enriches Pole Star’s proprietary data platform, DOMAIN, by incorporating new first-party data sources from Clearwater’s operational network. This advancement enhances predictive analytics across performance, risk, and sustainability domains.
